What is a domain name?

A domain name is a unique name that identifies an Internet site, for example: hyperreelsdesigns.com. Internet users access your website using your domain name. You don’t actually buy the domain name but rather lease it a year at a time, which is why we send you a reminder when your renewal is due. When choosing a domain name, it’s necessary to check that the name is available and not already in use.

What is a URL?

A URL is a Universal Resource Locator and relates to the address of a specific page on a website. Foe example: www.hyperreelsdesigns.com/faq

 

What is hosting?

It’s a service that makes a website available to others on the Internet. You rent space on a server – a computer that is permanently connected to the Internet. This means that your site can be accessed anywhere around the world; at any time.

 

How many email addresses do I need?

It all depends on your business. You may need an email address for each employee. Or you might want to split your email addresses into categories such as sales, info, or support.

 

How much will a design cost?

We treat all our clients individually and therefore we do not offer set prices on web design. If you email us and ask for a free quote we will send you a request form. To help us to better understand the requirements of your web site, please fill out the quote request form with as much detail and information as possible. Email it back to us and we will send you a quote.

 

Is there any way I can reduce the design cost?

Yes the more preparation you do the cheaper the overall cost i.e.
- Decide on a general layout for the site
- An overall design concept and colour scheme
- The number of pages and where the navigation will be.
- have all the images the correct size and optimized for the web
- have all the text ready for each page
- Each of these factors will help to reduce the overall cost.

 

Do I need to know anything technical before you can design my website?

Not at all. All you need is a good idea of what you want from your site and we’ll do the rest.

 

How long will it take you to complete my design?

The time-scale of a project is usually down to the client. Once you’ve given us all the content (text & images) we’ll aim to complete the project as soon as possible.


Can you use my company's existing logo and other materials for my website?

We will incorporate your existing material free of charge if it is in digital format. If you don’t have it in this format, we may need to charge to scan and convert it.

The cost depends on the complexity of your company logo. We can give you an exact cost once we have seen your material. If you don’t have a logo we can design one for you that you can then include on your business stationary and so promote your corporate brand.

 

How many revisions do I get?

Each customer is entitled to three hours of revision time. If at the end of your revision time you are still not happy with your website, we will charge £20 per hour to carry out additional work.

 

Will I be able to see my site before it gets published to the Internet?

Yes, once the designer has created your website they will send you a test URL.You will be able to see it and you can ask for any changes you want at this stage. Only when you are 100% happy with the design will it go live.
